Invitation from Lenore Hemmingway
At a recent neighborhood get together a number of people expressed an interest in having a full moon rising get together on the Red Rocks (north) behind our subdivision (behind our home at 15 Redrock Court).
Well we have a unique opportunity—Sunday, 27 Sep is a full moon and a lunar eclipse/blood moon event. It hasn’t happened since 1982 and won’t happen again until 2033. So I was asked to organize a full moon rising event. The sun is supposed to set around 6:30pm or so, moon will rise close to that time and is supposed to already be in the partial lunar eclipse mode.
So, if you are interested in attending, you may meet on the flat red rock area behind our home between 6:15 and 6:45pm. Recommend you bring a flashlight, if you want to bring a chair/drinks/food/blanket/musical instruments or drums—that is up to you. If you bring drinks, please don’t bring glass. They do a drum circle at Cathedral Rock similar to this each month, but it is a much longer hike up to the rocks and parking is a nightmare. Nothing will be supplied for you, other than the opportunity to see this with neighbors and friends. The weather prediction is clear skies, but if that changes, it won’t be worth going if you can’t see it due to clouds.
FOR THIS ONE EVENT: You have our permission to cross our property to the right of our home to access the forest/red rocks. Or you may enter through your own property or thru the allowed gate area at the water company.
I don’t need RSVPs because this is an open event and nothing is being provided.
Thanks,
Lenore Hemingway
