The Spirit of Pine Valley

A Unique Community Living with Nature

Neighborly News Bites March 20, 2022

KUDOS to the Sidys

Just announced – our neighbors Richard and Monique Sidy are honored with the Excellence Award for Landscaping by Keep Sedona Beautiful.  Richard and Monique were “early settlers” in Pine Valley, and they are both terrific community contributors.  If you haven’t discovered Richard’s monthly article in The Villager on landscaping – you are missing something fabulous!  The PVPOA website was created and is still maintained by Monique.  Congratulations!

Spring Dumpster Dates

Get your calendar out and schedule your yard cleanup.  We have been warned by the USFS and YC Sheriff that fire danger is expected to be very high this summer due to the nice moisture this winter.  The national FireWise website has excellent information to guide your landscaping and fire risk mitigation plans: https://www.nfpa.org/Public-Education/Fire-causes-and-risks/Wildfire/Firewise-USA

The yard waste dumpster is scheduled for April 7th – same location, 120 Ridgecrest Drive.  The cost for the dumpsters has gone up, so we are making an adjustment to contain the expense.  The first dumpster generally fills up in one week, we then order a second.  Total time span will be two weeks for both, or as soon as the second one is full – whichever happens first … so don’t delay!

Rules: (1) Only yard clippings, leaves, pruning. No appliances, metal, kitchen food trash bags, styrofoam, lumber, hot tub covers, pottery, clothes, books, plastics bags, motors, concrete, asphalt, weed cloth, chemicals, garden hoses, etc. (2) You are expected to push/press your debris all the way UP to the top and IN to the back, and to bring a broom to clean up after yourself.  Our neighbors near the dumpster should not have to deal with your mess. (3) The dumpster is EXCLUSIVELY for members who have paid their 2022 dues.
